Our annual MasterMerchant competition will return for 2026 in a **NEW LOCATION** in Ingleton, North Yorkshire.
After listening to delegate feedback, we have also moved the competition to start on Thursday 09 July 2026 and conclude at lunchtime on Saturday 11 July 2026.
What is MasterMerchant?
MasterMerchant is a team competition open to all BMF Members, whether you are a supplier, merchant, distributor or service member.
It's demanding, provides great networking opportunities for members, helps build relationships between not just companies but individuals too - and it's great fun as well!
The weekend involves a series of mental and physical problem-solving exercises such as code breaking, map reading, logic problems, climbing/abseiling, ghyll walking, zip wires, canoeing, clue trails and other tasks designed to test your creativity, leadership skills, and improve channels of communication. The tasks for the weekend are kept under wraps before the event starts to give everyone a fair chance!
Who is eligible to enter?
A team consists of any 4 people - male or female, counter staff through to Managing Directors!
Teams can represent a whole company, a region, area or branch. Or why not invite your customers to join you?
If you wish to enter as an individual or pair, we can create teams of 3-4 for you, providing you with a great opportunity to make new connections across the weekend.
The Competition
The weekend event begins as teams arrive on Thursday evening, when each team is given their 'starter pack' and a briefing for the first day. Late arrivals are catered for where possible. The weekend will then conclude with lunch on Saturday where the results will be announced with presentations for the MasterMerchant winning team and the SuperSupplier winning team.
Entry Fee
To enter a team of 4, the cost is £1500+VAT - that's just £375 per person!
This includes accommodation for 2 nights (Bed & Breakfast), sandwich lunch, instructors and equipment for each activity.
The cost excludes transport to, from and around the Yorkshire Dales, which should be organised by each individual team.
